Our mission and vision emphasises can be found in the meaning behind our logo.

Meaning of the NCPC Logo
Some have asked the meaning behind our logo, especially since it doesn’t seem very “Christian” or “religious”.
In all actuality, the logo is made up of three parts with three ancient symbols common among Christians and reminds us of our four intertwined emphasises - Live, Love, and Serve in the communal likeness of the Holy Trinity.

The first part is The Rising Sun, which points to the Genesis narrative of creation and the coming of light. It is also an ancient symbol of The Rising Son, meaning the resurrection of Jesus, and all who are in Christ are a new creation. It reminds us of our call to LIVE as a New Creation. . . Live your life and the life in community as God intends as a demonstration plot for the world.

The second part is The Living Water. Water plays an important part through out the story of salvation as related in Scripture, from Genesis to Revelation. Christ said he is the Living Water and anyone who drinks of him will never be thirsty again. This points not only to our call to service and mission through our baptism, but also our call to constantly be committed to Christian formation through prayer, worship, study, community, giving and participating in the mission of God. (This part also reminds us of our community's history of when the Methodist new church development called Living Water merge with the Presbyterians). The Living Water reminds us to LOVE God with all your heart, mind and strength, and your neighbor, as your self. . . and experience the living water that is God’s love.

The third part is The Tree of Life, which is spoken about in the Book of Genesis, whose fruit gives eternal life to all who partake of it. For Christian’s, The Tree of Life is also another name for the Cross of Christ, and all who partake of its fruit (i.e. Holy Communion), have eternal life in Christ. The tree also reminds us of our mission as a church. Just as a tree which bears fruit does so for the purpose to reproduce, so is the church’s (the tree bearing fruit) purpose to birth new disciples in order to spread the gospel and make real the kingdom of God here and now. The Tree of Life reminds us that God has saved us so we may SERVE, and find life in the Cross of Jesus.

Lastly, the fact we have three symbols that come together to be one logo is reflective of the ancient teaching on the Holy Trinity (three in one and one in three). All parts are intertwined and relate to one another, and when all three parts are in communal harmony, the Kingdom of God is made real.
